The most highly decorated surviving member of the Special Air Service and author of the classic SAS book - 'Winged Dagger'.

During a spectacular career in WW2, Farran won the DSO, MC and two bars, the Legion d'Honneur, Croix de Guerre with Palm, US Legion of Merit, Italian Gold Medal and Greek War Medal and commanded some of the most famous missions in the history of the Special Air Service.
